From Rock Bottom to Millions

We talk a lot about growth and transformation on this blog. But sometimes, to fully appreciate where we are, we have to go back to where it started.

This is the behind-the-scenes look at my personal story—how I went from three arrests and self-destruction to becoming a multimillionaire entrepreneur, wife, and mother. And more importantly, how I finally built a life I love living.

This post is part of a three-part “Real Life Behind the Business” series. You can also listen to the full podcast episode here if you’d rather hear the story in my voice.

The Beginning: Searching for Belonging in All the Wrong Places

Texas Flag

I was born in Texas in 1987. Though my parents divorced when I was just two, I still remember Texas feeling like home. I bounced between households, navigating remarriages and relocations. What I lacked in structure, I made up for by constantly trying to find somewhere—anywhere—I belonged.

By the time I hit my teenage years, I found belonging in the bar and party scenes. Alcohol, attention, acceptance—they became my normal. At first, it felt like freedom. But it quickly turned into a trap.

What started as experimentation became a nearly decade-long lifestyle of self-destruction. From age 14 to 23, I lost myself in alcohol, drugs, and unstable relationships.

Arrested Three Times… But Only One Rock Bottom

Everyone has a moment. A point where everything shifts. For me, that moment came during my third arrest.

This time, it was a DUI and a felony drug charge.

It wasn’t my first time in a jail cell, but it was the first time I truly saw myself—literally and metaphorically. I was placed in the medical unit because I had expressed suicidal thoughts. In that crowded room with rusted mirrors and stories of women facing life for murder, I had my awakening.

I looked into that warped mirror and, through blurry contacts and swollen eyes, I saw myself clearly for the first time.

And what I realized was this:

“I put myself here.”

That was the beginning of everything. Because once I took ownership of where I was, I could finally change it.

The Power of Personal Accountability

From that day forward, I stopped numbing and started facing.

I removed alcohol and drugs from my life. I slowly exited the friendships that kept me anchored to that version of myself. I started working out consistently. I found a life coach. I bartended sober for an entire year while I figured out what was next.

Eventually, I left the bar scene for good, got certified in personal training, and started working at a gym. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was mine. I was building something different. This time, on purpose.

I wasn’t just healing—I was rebuilding.

Building Something That Lasts

My first business was fitness. I started training clients in person. Then online. Then we opened a gym. I poured everything I had into giving people results and showing up with exceptional care. And slowly, it grew.

There was no grand plan to become a business strategist. It evolved because people kept asking:

“How are you building this while still having a life?”

I didn’t have a polished answer. I just knew I didn’t want to recreate the chaos I had just escaped. I wanted to build success that didn’t cost me my peace.

And that meant doing things differently.

Why My First Transformation Wasn’t Business—It Was Me

Before I ever built a business, I had to build a new version of myself.

I had to learn to:

  • Say no to what didn’t serve me

  • Trust my gut (especially when raising my prices)

  • Save money instead of spending every dollar

  • Ask for help—even when it was uncomfortable

  • Choose long-term peace over short-term validation

That internal work was what allowed me to eventually grow my external success. And that’s why my coaching today always addresses both. You cannot build a life you love by only focusing on business strategy. You have to rebuild the beliefs and patterns that got you here.

Choosing the Life I Wanted—Again and Again

One of the hardest decisions I made in the early days was quitting bartending. Even though I wasn’t drinking anymore, it was still part of the environment I had outgrown. And I knew it had to go.

That decision opened the door for me to say yes to a career that aligned with my values—one where I could help people change their lives the way I had changed mine.

That turned into:

  • Building an online business

  • Transitioning from fitness to mindset and life coaching

  • Then, eventually, to strategic business advising for high-level entrepreneurs

But none of that would’ve happened if I had clung to who I used to be.

Lessons That Built the Foundation for a Multimillion-Dollar Life

“You don’t have to quit your business to change your life. But you do have to change how you’re doing it.”

As my life evolved, so did my values. I wanted work-life balance. I wanted to be a present mom. I wanted a peaceful home and a thriving business.

So I made choices that aligned with those desires. I built boundaries. I got mentors. I stopped ignoring misalignment just because it was profitable.

Some of the biggest lessons I’ve learned:

  • Success without fulfillment isn’t success

  • Urgency is not always your friend

  • You don’t have to hustle to earn rest

  • Faster isn’t always better—alignment is

  • Regret is heavier than any risk you’ll take

You Can Rebuild. I’m Living Proof.

Family and kids running

I went from being stuck in addiction and arrested three times to leading a multimillion-dollar company with a family I love and a life that feels aligned.

And I didn’t get here alone.

I asked for help.

I stayed committed even when it felt hard.

I stopped chasing success someone else defined and started choosing what I actually wanted.

If you feel stuck, burnt out, or like you’ve built something externally successful that’s crumbling internally—let this be your reminder:

You are not stuck. You are not too far gone. And you do not have to do this alone.
