They say movement is medicine, but for mom entrepreneurs, movement often gets lost in the in-between moments….
Like rushing to the car for school pick-ups or standing up from your desk to switch the laundry.
Between leading your business, managing your team, and taking care of your family, it's easy to let your own health take a backseat.
It’s easy to convince yourself you’re "too busy" to exercise, but when we let it slide we often end up not feeling good, not sleeping well, or even suffering from real health issues.
As you'll learn today, movement is non-negotiable for your well-being—physically and mentally— and is the foundation of everything else: business, motherhood, and life.
“Movement is medicine for your brain. It makes you a better leader, a better business owner, and a better parent.”
And no, it doesn’t require hours at the gym to include movement in your daily routines.
Keep reading to discover how you can make movement a simple and effective part of your busy routine—and how doing so will elevate every aspect of your success.
My Personal Success is Rooted in Movement

I am very, very, pretty rigid with my movement and my exercise. It is something that I rarely miss.
And very few times will you find me being still in general, but there is a good reason.
I was actually introduced to entrepreneurship through fitness. My first business was as a personal trainer. And that grew into us owning a gym and building everything I have today from that exact place.
“Movement is my love language.”
You could say I love exercise. I love all forms of exercise. And it is something that truly makes not just our health better, but our life better.
Why Movement Matters for Your Business
I know that for the majority of my clients (myself included), we are so obsessed with our businesses as entrepreneurs. We love the work that we do so we could easily spend hours, even days working without any sort of break.
That also means we have a really hard time bridging the gap between the importance of our health and spending time in the gym and devoting time to our bodies as necessarily moving the needle in our business.
We know that it is not only the impact that we're creating, but it is our lifeline. It is the way that we feed our families and how we provide everything we need.
So taking time away from the business to focus on something like working out doesn’t feel like the right move.
But here's why movement is actually critical for us as entrepreneurs.
When we move our bodies, it creates endorphins, right? These endorphins do amazing things. They create the THREE most important things that we need for our business to succeed:
They provide clarity
They reduce stress
They help us to stay focused
So physical movement actually helps our brain!
If we are not focused, if we're scattered, if we're spinning from thing to thing, we will find ourselves not just unfulfilled professionally, but unfulfilled as people because it prevents us from honoring our human side, the side of you that needs social connection, fun and play.
It is truly a direct investment back into your business because of the way that you show up, the way that you lead, the focus that you have, clarity that you have, and the way that you communicate with people.
Breaking the Barriers of Movement
Mental Barrier
If you're afraid of what will happen if you pull back on certain efforts or if you take time away from the business to workout or focus on your mental health, this is a mindset barrier.
All of these things are very real fears, but there are solutions and ways for us to work through those things.
First, you need to open your mind and not be so short-sighted that you aren't seeing that putting these things on the back burner is going to eventually bite you in the ass. Your health, getting sick, and having a bad attitude will seep into your work ethic, your team communications and your relationship with your spouse.
Second, you need to shift from a negative perspective to one that places movement as a part of your success.
If you think that I like getting up at 5 a.m. to work out, you're wrong. I don't love getting up at 5 a.m. to work out, but what I do love is:
The confidence that I feel after I do it
The example that I'm showing my children
That I'm able to hopefully live for a really long time
The sense of pride that I feel for showing up for myself
There are these things that really all snowball together into creating power that drives you forward everywhere else. It's all about just shifting your perspective around the purpose.
Time Barrier
There's also the reality that you are a human outside your business.
As CEOs, we have teams and have a lot of things to do.
Sure, it is time consuming, but in the same breath, we're supposed to be controlling our time better. We're supposed to be in charge of our schedules.
It's really understanding the importance of what we need and how it is directly connected to the things that we want and re-prioritizing our time around these things.
So, if your barrier to movement is your schedule, we can fix it through a free business audit. In this free call, I completely assess your business, look at all the areas where you have growth potential, the gaps and the inefficiencies, and deliver everything to you with what you need to do or fix so that you can kill it in business, without killing yourself in the process.
If you’re ready to take control of your schedule and start focusing on what will actually bring you more success, book a business audit with me today.
How to Prioritize Movement for Your Life and Business Success
Movement has never been more accessible. Even since I got into fitness, you know, oh my gosh, 14 years ago there's been so many changes. From free apps to YouTube workouts and quick at-home routines, there's no excuse not to get moving.
The key is creating a habit—and sticking to it for at least 30 days to see the direct result in your business. I guarantee that once you start moving, you’ll feel more confident, which will reflect in your sales, relationships, and overall happiness.
Start Small
You might be thinking, “But where do I start?!
It doesn’t have to be a major overhaul. I'm not asking you to jump fully in, to clear your schedule out and to become a powerlifting competitor.
Take a moment to think about possible solutions. What sort of movement can you incorporate? What does that look like?
Can you walk during a meeting or get up a bit earlier? The key is to start somewhere—whether it’s 10 minutes of movement or a walk before the kids wake up.
When I started, I would put time blocks on my calendars when I was going to the gym. I had no idea what I was doing. I was on these machines trying to figure them out. I'm sure people were probably looking at me. I didn't care.
I was focused on building a consistent habit. If you’ve had a health habit that’s slipped, it’s okay to experiment with something new, like a local fitness class.
Plan for YOU
When incorporating movement, remember this: Plan your business around your life, not the other way around.
The purpose of entrepreneurship is freedom and flexibility, so let’s stop capping that. Movement isn’t just about physical health; it’s about creating a stronger, more confident version of yourself that benefits both your personal and professional life.
Get Busy Moving
The act of moving truly allows you to become a healthier, more focused leader. It fuels your energy, sharpens your mind, and helps you show up as the best version of yourself for both your business and your family.
