5 Things You Need in Place to Reduce Stress & Scale Your Business

Don’t ignore these signs if you have BIG GOALS for 2023.

There are people who get gas the second the light comes on, and there are those that take it to zero and know there’s still a few miles left.

And they marry each other.

I’m the maniac cruising around on E like I’ve got a full tank, which is very symbolic for how I used to handle taking care or doing anything for myself.

Too often people wait until the car engine blows to finally get serviced.

It feels harder in the moment to make a change, or do something different - so you wait until you are forced to.

There are sensors in your car that tell you when attention is needed, your body has these too.

Insomnia, panic attacks, headaches, fogginess, chronic stress, irritability, reactiveness…

These are your check engine lights.

And they will keep coming on until you make changes that aren’t just temporary.

According to The American Institute of Stress:

  • 77 percent of people experience stress that affects their physical health

  • 73 percent of people have stress that impacts their mental health

  • 48 percent of people have trouble sleeping because of stress

This is a severe issue in business owners that isn’t getting better, and it has to change.

You know there is a better way to build success than exhausting yourself.

A way that allows you to feel as successful internally as your business appears on the outside.

You don’t need to wait until your next stress shut down, anxiety attack or epic meltdown to get the support you need.

Imagine continuing to scale your business but not allowing it to cause you sleepless nights.

Or being able to turn off completely from work to be present without having thoughts of how you are falling behind.

Or navigating through the growth and change in your company as you move through changes in your personal life without feeling like you are going to lose your shit at any minute.

When you have preventative care in place it’s like getting your regularly scheduled oil changes to keep moving.

Learning strategies and practices that allow you to continue your external successes while feeling the freedom, peace, joy and fulfillment you desire is what my clients learn.

When you have these things in place you feel better and function at a higher capacity- meaning that your clients, family and team are all benefitting from your ability to adapt, lead and grow.

Here are preventative practices you need in place to keep growing your business and not bury yourself in the process.

  • Organization - Part of being a female founder or mom boss is having your hands in many pots and wearing a lot of different hats, just like you use project management software for the business you need a system for yourself. Part of overwhelm and stress is feeling like you have a million things to do and not enough time to do them, with the right organization in place you know what is going where and when whether it’s for your business or personal life so the unknown is minimized.

  • Regular Release - There has to be a give and take, if you are expecting to achieve these extraordinary goals you need to pour back into the woman who is getting you there, YOU. There are science-backed ways to release emotions and reduce stress that create more happiness and better results for your life such as; movement, journaling, meditation, creativity practices, getting outside, and venting with the intention of being heard. When you are regularly letting things go and move through you, you make space for more to come.

  • Sleep - I’ll keep this one short and sweet, most of you need more sleep than you are getting I can guarantee it. Your emotional regulation is begging you to get more hours and increase your sleep quality. Go to bed earlier, reduce or eliminate your alcohol intake, and get an easily repeatable bedtime routine. The average adult needs 7-9 hours of sleep.

  • Frequent Communications - This goes for your business and your home. It’s easy to prioritize team meetings to make sure all your people have what they need, but are you having meetings in your home to make sure things are optimized and efficient inside your own four walls? In your meetings with your team and your family it’s important to communicate openly about what is working, what isn’t, what clogs are preventing efficiency and brainstorm ideas on how you can optimize the day-to-day happenings. There is always a way to do things better and it requires communication and collaboration to figure it out.

  • Support - You aren’t getting to the top alone, and you wouldn’t want to arrive at a peak without a group to celebrate with you. Surround yourself with people who will not just be your biggest cheerleaders but who can also have honest conversations with you about taking care of yourself and holding you accountable to what you say you’re going to do. Conversations about growth are beautiful, but there is just as much growth coming from a conversation where you are held to a new standard and asked to rise by someone who believes in you.

Don’t be stuck on the side of the road, held back waiting for AAA because you waited too long to take care of the most important part of your business - YOU.
