CFO Goes From Hiding Behind Her Vision to Expanding Success with Inner Confidence

BlogHeader5-1.png

Like so many high-achieving women, Sarah Young’s focus was always “do, then earn”.

For years, she prioritized doing the work, achieving success, and pushing herself to the limit.

But fear of losing it all and self-doubt kept her from fully stepping into her potential.

She was hiding behind the scenes of her own business, unsure of how to lead from her full voice and wisdom, without burning out every time.

In our time together, we went beyond just business strategy to help Sarah face those fears, unlock her true potential, and embrace the leader she was meant to be.

Keep reading to learn about Sarah’s journey and results of having a supportive partner to help her find success, alongside sustainability.

Before Working With Me

As an experienced CFO and financial advisor, Sarah was used to teaching her clients how to grow their own businesses with balance.

But, she was struggling to do the same for herself.

Her company, Young and Co, was growing fast, her CFO offer had taken off, and she had a vision that was bigger than most.

Yet, there was a lot of pressure she carried, some of it external…but most of it internal.

She was doing it all, but not feeling the freedom and fulfillment she had hoped success would bring. She knew there had to be more, but she didn’t have a guide who really saw her.

Choosing A Partner That Goes Beyond Business Strategy

Sarah and I first crossed paths inside a mastermind, and we instantly connected.

By the time we began working together in July 2023, she had just come off several intense tax seasons and was still carrying the weight of it all.

Her business was profitable, but she:

  • Wasn’t feeling well, physically

  • Wasn’t showing up in the way she wanted to in her life

  • Didn’t feel like she had anyone in her corner truly committed to her full vision

She came to my retreat looking for expansiveness. For someone who wouldn’t just tolerate her ambition — but help her expand into it.

I told her, “I’m going to crack you like an egg.”

She laughed, but also cried. Because what she needed wasn’t another revenue target or tactical system.

What she needed was to feel truly seen, challenged, and supported at the deepest level, both as a founder and as a woman.

“There’s something so big and so possible… but I was scared to go there alone.”

What We Worked on Together & What She Achieved

During our time together, Sarah experienced results that didn’t come from quick fixes, but from deep mindset shifts, long-term habit building, and intentional implementation that supported both her business and her life:

1. Rewiring Her Identity Around Work & Worth

Sarah had a deeply ingrained belief that her value only came from being the “smart girl” who works hard and always performs. This mindset tied her to every outcome, which left her feeling guilty and overwhelmed by the pressure.

Together, we unpacked her self-identity and began to rewrite the story to allow her to make decisions from a place of freedom, not fear.

2. Expanding Her Business While Supporting Her Life

Instead of building a business that just looked successful on the outside, we focused on making it that way on the inside, too.

That meant unlearning the pressure to “always be doing” and creating a new kind of success: one that’s sustainable, profitable, and aligned with her whole life, not just the business.

She started giving herself permission to build a business that worked for her, not just her clients or others in her life.

“It doesn’t mean I’m choosing work over my son. It means I’m choosing me. And that’s been the biggest shift.”

3. Trusting Herself & Taking Bigger Leaps

Sarah was already smart and capable…

What she needed was to trust her own knowledge and learn how to hold the discomfort of doing things differently.

She had this vision for what she wanted to do, but couldn’t really see the steps for how she could get there.

“I just wanted more and I wanted to be expanded. And I just knew that I couldn't do it by myself anymore.”

Through our work, she has since stopped hiding behind the scenes of her business and started leading with everything she had to give!

She launched the High Profit Society, a program designed to empower entrepreneurs to build wealth with clarity and support. This shift marked her move from being the doer to becoming the visionary in her business.

A full-circle moment was launching her podcast, Profit + Prosper, last year. She shares tactical tips to help entrepreneurs increase their profit so they can truly prosper in their business and in life.

4. Creating Margin and Health for Herself

Anytime Sarah would try to work on health stuff, she’d get really burned out from the business. She felt like she was just going through the motions.

We looked beyond business and into her whole life to create margins and white space that allowed her time for her health, marriage, son and energy.

We also worked on her mindset that rest is not earned – That she can create space and still be successful.

Stepping Into More, With Someone by Your Side

Sarah didn’t need to work harder, be smarter or be someone different to have the success and schedule she desired.

She needed someone who could hold the whole picture of her life and business and help her step fully into her next level.

“You held space for me to grieve, to celebrate, to figure out what the hell I was doing next. And you did it in a way where I felt so safe. You’ve seen all of me. Like, you’ve seen the tears, you’ve seen the panic, you’ve seen the fear, and you’ve held it with so much strength and steadiness.”
